Limitations

  1. The theater's outdated AV infrastructure limited its versatility for various events and functions.
  2. As a classroom, lecture hall, movie theater, and live theater, the space required a system that could seamlessly support diverse use cases.
  3. The new system needed to be simple enough for presenters with no technical training to operate without assistance.
  4. Balancing advanced functionality with ease of use was essential to meet both basic and complex presentation needs.
  5. Modernizing the theater's infrastructure while maintaining its multifunctional use posed a significant challenge.

The Solution

To modernize Dallas Baptist University’s Rogers Theater and enhance its versatility, we implemented a comprehensive AV upgrade. Solutions included installing L-Acoustics sound equipment, a high-definition laser projector with automated screen, and a custom lectern with built-in touch-screen control and BYOD inputs. A touch-screen audio control system and strategically placed SYVA column arrays ensured ease of use and superior sound quality. All equipment was housed in a wall-mounted rack, creating a user-friendly system adaptable to classroom, lecture, theater, and movie presentations.

Achievements

  1. Installed L-Acoustics equipment, including strategically positioned SYVA column arrays and X4i modules, for superior sound quality.
  2. Integrated a user-friendly touch-screen audio control system for seamless operation.
  3. Added a high-definition laser projector with a retractable, ceiling-recessed screen for automated presentations.
  4. Designed a custom presentation lectern with built-in touch-screen control, gooseneck microphone and BYOD (Bring-Your-Own-Device) inputs.
  5. Housed all equipment in a wall-mounted rack outside the theater, ensuring easy access and a clean setup.
