Overview

FM supported the buildout of Houk AC’s new office and warehouse with a complete low-voltage package: network, Wi-Fi, access control, and surveillance. Working with the general contractor, Arco, and Houk’s stakeholder, Landon, the team coordinated from early setup through rough-in, permitting, and commissioning.

Limitations

  • Firewall, switching, and infrastructure scope had to be divided clearly across FM, Arco, and Houk.
  • The auxiliary building and off-site parking lot could not take the mounts the first design assumed.
  • Gate readers, cross-street connectivity, and extra data drops showed up in the field.

The Solution

FM delivered the backbone, wireless coverage, surveillance, and access control, including MDF power requirements, warehouse IDF locations, and rack and UPS specifications. Drawings were updated for added drops. Access-control permitting and change orders covered an extra door and gate hardware. Commissioning closed with UniFi Access and Protect training.
